ION PAIR CONVERSION THERMODYNAMICS IN HYDROGEN BROMIDE ALCOHOL SOLUTIONS

The thermodynamic quantities of dissociation contact and solvent-separated ion pairs into ions, conversion HBr ionogen in n-alcohols from methyl to n-octyl have been calculated by the procedure we set forth earlier for HCl – n-alcohol systems same solvents at 278.15–328.15 K. following regularities were established this work: a) positive values ΔdisGº increase with increasing temperature, number carbon atoms molecule, decreasing radius halide ion, their sign magnitude are determined entropic component (–TΔdis Sº). In case, exceed pairs; b) ΔconvGº also positive, except methanol K solutions temperatures ethanol. For these cases, contrast, ΔdisGº(RIP) > ΔdisGº(CIP) negative. As temperature increase, become more negative, vice versa as hydrocarbon radical increases; c) concentration increases methanol-n-octanol series, decreases slightly anion radius, changes within ~30 % (methanol) 95 (n-octanol) 278.15 methanol, predominate; ethanol, both types is approximately same; other n-octanols, predominate.
